Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed displeasure over the maintenance of Eastern Peripheral Expressway and reprimanded the officers from the stage. He said that they have built a lot of roads, now the people doing bad work have to be removed from the system. Nitin Gadkari said in a program organized at Duhai Interchange of Eastern Peripheral Expressway on Tuesday that those doing good work will also be rewarded.
I have come to the peripheral road after a long time. A lot of work has been done on our road, now I wish that many people retire from my hands, so that they are not able to work. Some contractors should be blacklisted, some should have their bank guarantees confiscated. Today I saw the road, the maintenance was very bad. We will not spare you. Those who do bad work, after confiscating their bank guarantee, we will blacklist them. We will not let them fill the tender.
Gadkari said that we will start some awards, which will give awards every year to the agency which has done good plantation. The one who does good work will get the award and the one who does bad work will be removed from the system. He will not be allowed to survive. We have also ordered to check all the toilets. The one who does not do good work, even if it is a foreign company, will be blacklisted. The one who does good work will be given awards, garlands and certificates.
The Union Minister said that he and his Minister of State will now go out to inspect the roads and those doing bad work will be thrown out. The Minister said, ‘Enough of the record of roads. Now we have become the world’s largest road network. Now we have to make a record of retiring, suspending, blacklisting, terminating people. Take my words seriously. I have told my Minister of State to visit every road, I will also visit. Those who do good work will be respected and those who do bad work will be thrown out of the system.’
