New Delhi. Heavy rain continues to wreak havoc in many parts of the country. Due to rain, life has come to a standstill in many states including Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for both the states. Due to incessant rains, people’s lives are in danger. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be rain in Chhattisgarh till September 21. There is also a possibility of water falling in Odisha and West Bengal.

According to the information, many parts of Uttar Pradesh are submerged. Shravasti has been raining continuously for the last three days. Due to this, the Rapti river has come in spate here. The river has not only crossed the danger mark, but is flowing more than 50 cm above it. Here only water is visible all around. Roads, fields, streets, drains are all submerged. Because of this people are not able to leave their homes. Especially in the villages situated near Rapti, people’s lives are in danger.

Rising water level of many rivers
Apart from Rapti, Sharda and Ghaghra rivers of Uttar Pradesh are also in spate. The district administration has released more than four and a half lakh cusecs of water from Girja Barrage and Banbasa Sharda, due to which the water level of the rivers is increasing continuously. Village villages have been submerged in water. The connectivity to the villages has been cut off from the main roads. People have to use boats to cross the area. According to the information, people of many villages are helpless, they have to worry about everyday things.
