Weather Today: Rain in Kerala, dense fog alert in these states

New Delhi: On the one hand, it is harsh winter in many states of North India. According to the Meteorological Department, during the next 24 hours, dense fog is likely to occur in the morning at isolated places over North Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya on December 10 and 11. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in South India today. The Meteorological Department said that there may be heavy rain at different places in Kerala and Tamil Nadu on Sunday.

Alert of rain, snowfall and dense fog

The weather department has predicted light rain and snowfall at some places in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Fog is also occurring in Delhi, UP, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Cold winds are blowing during the day in UP. Due to this the cold has increased.

Delhi’s climate

The temperature is continuously falling even in the country’s capital Delhi. The minimum temperature in the national capital on Saturday was recorded at 8.5 degrees Celsius, which is one degree Celsius below the season’s average temperature. The Meteorological Department has predicted fog on Sunday and Monday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 24 and nine degrees Celsius respectively. The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded in the very poor category on Sunday morning.

Night temperature in Kashmir reaches below freezing point

On the other hand, there is severe winter in the valley of Jammu and Kashmir. Due to increasing cold in the valley, the minimum temperature in Kashmir has reached below the freezing point. Last night, the coldest night of this season was recorded in Srinagar.

Severe winter in Rajasthan

The temperature is continuously falling in Rajasthan also. Because of this it is extremely cold. Fatehpur in Sikar was the coldest place last night where the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius. Churu and Jaipur are also recording temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.
