Weather Update: ‘Low pressure’ formed in the Bay of Bengal, heavy rains will occur in these states during the next 24 hours

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain in north-west India and Uttarakhand from September 14 to 16. During the next five days, intense rain is likely to continue over South Gujarat, North Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Due to the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, it will rain in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar. The pressure area over Odisha further weakened into a low pressure area moving towards southeast Madhya Pradesh and its adjoining areas. This weather system is very likely to move northwestwards across Madhya Pradesh during the next 48 hours. Have an estimate.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa during next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain at isolated places in Uttarakhand, Southeast Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim. At the same time, light to moderate rain is expected in the capital Delhi and its surrounding areas till September 16. According to the IMD, the sea condition will be very rough off the coasts of North Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on September 13, 2022. The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen to stay away from the beaches.
Many weather systems are active across the country
According to Skymet Weather, the pressure over South Chhattisgarh has increased in northwest direction and now it lies over South Chhattisgarh and adjoining southeast Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. It will move in a northwest direction and gradually weaken into a low pressure area by the afternoon of 13 September. The Monsoon Trough is now passing through Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Guna Depression Centre, Kalingapatnam and then east-southeastwards towards East Central Bay of Bengal. A Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over East Central Arabian Sea off South Maharashtra and Goa Coast.
