The North-West states of the country are currently relieved from unseasonal rains, storms and hailstorms.
They may again face rain in the last 2 days of March.
IMD today expressed the possibility of heavy rains in the states of North East.

New Delhi. The states of the north-west of the country may have got respite from unseasonal rains, thunderstorms and hailstorms, but they may again face rains in the last two days of March. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has expressed the possibility of heavy rainfall at many places in the North East states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya today i.e. on March 27. According to IMD, there is a possibility of rain with lightning, strong wind (40-50 kmph) and thunder at isolated places in Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal today.

Along with this, IMD has predicted rain with lightning and strong wind (30-40 kmph) in Jharkhand, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today. According to the Meteorological Department, a Western Disturbance is currently present in the mid-tropospheric levels as a cyclonic circulation over North Pakistan and its neighboring areas. While in the lower tropospheric levels, a trough is running from Bihar to Interior Tamil Nadu. Due to this, a fresh Western Disturbance can affect North West India from the night of 29 March.

According to IMD, there may be incidents of thunderstorm and hailstorm with light to moderate rains on March 29 and 30 in many states of North West India and Central India. On the other hand, till March 29 in South India, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe. The deterioration of the weather in the states of North East will continue till the end of this month. However, in the last 24 hours, heavy rains have been reported at some places in Kerala. Punalur in Kerala recorded 7 cm of rain. While thunderstorms were seen at many places in Jharkhand, West Bengal, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh.
