Weather Update: Weather patterns changed in many states of the country, heavy rains expected at these places, chill increased here

The rain has increased the cold

New Delhi: The weather patterns in the country have changed once again. In some states of North India, the rain during the last 24 hours has increased the cold. At the same time, snowfall is occurring in the hilly states. It rained in many districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Sultanpur on Thursday. Due to this the chill has increased and fog is also falling. According to the Meteorological Department, a new round of rain will start in South Peninsular India from today. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Kerala and Mahe today and tomorrow. Heavy rain may occur at isolated places in Tamil Nadu on Saturday.

It will rain in the states

During the next 48 hours, light to moderate rain may occur at some places in Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Cold increased in Delhi-NCR

Cold was felt in Delhi on Friday morning and there was fog. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 26 degrees Celsius. Fog is falling in the entire NCR including Delhi and Noida in the morning and evening. It is also getting cold in Punjab-Haryana and Rajasthan.

Due to increasing cold in the valley, the minimum temperature across Kashmir has reached below the freezing point. Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2 degrees Celsius, while it was minus 1.4 degrees Celsius the previous night. The temperature in Pahalgam was recorded at minus 5.1 degrees Celsius.

Flood like situation due to rain in Chennai

Days after cyclone ‘Migzom’ caused torrential rains, parts of Chennai and suburbs in adjoining districts were inundated on Thursday, throwing life out of gear in the metropolis and its surrounding areas. Cyclone ‘Migjom’ crossed the coast of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday and Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpet had to bear the brunt of it. Parts of Velachery and West Tambaram were also waterlogged on Thursday, with food packets being air-dropped in the Pallikaranai area.

Life disrupted due to rain in Jharkhand

Normal life is disrupted due to intermittent rains in Jharkhand. Due to intermittent light to moderate rain since Tuesday evening, a drop in day temperature has been recorded in the state. Ranchi Meteorological Center in-charge Abhishek Anand said that the effect of the cyclone will reduce after Friday. He said that the intensity of rain will reduce from the evening.

West Bengal weather

Life was affected in Kolkata and southern districts of West Bengal on Thursday morning due to cold wind as well as intermittent rain. The Meteorological Department has predicted generally cloudy sky and light to moderate rain in eastern India till Friday morning. The Meteorological Department says that the cyclonic storm ‘Migjom’ has weakened and turned into a low pressure area over Chhattisgarh, due to which such changes have occurred in the weather of Eastern India.
