Former Pakistan cricketer Rameez Raja has strongly criticized the team’s 2-0 defeat against Bangladesh. He says that why would anyone watch Pakistan’s cricket, because they are getting quality cricket in the world. He also said that Pakistan does not have the strength to face England with this pace attack. Former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Rameez Raja also said that captain Shan Masood should be questioned. Rameez Raja has also said that everyone asks what has happened to Pakistan?
After losing the Test series against Bangladesh, Rameez Raja said on his YouTube channel, “I don’t know how Pakistan’s cricket will recover after this. The England team is about to arrive. They will play three Test matches and Pakistan will not be able to afford another disaster. It is what it is. Many fans are heartbroken. On social media or socially, when we talk to a friend or in the discussions taking place among family members, the same thing happens that what has happened to Pakistan. Shan Masood has to answer this because he is the captain.”
He further said, “Shan Masood has made a mistake. I agree he is a young captain. This was a young bowling attack, I agree that too, but he picked this bowling attack. He played good batsmen after looking at them. The matches got over in almost four days. Shan Masood will have to answer why he chose this batting and bowling combination. He will also have to answer about his performance. I always believe that if the captain is scoring runs then half the story is sorted, but if he is not scoring runs and you lose the series and that too against Bangladesh, then someone should be held accountable.”
Rameez Raja did not stop here, he also said that along with the captain, the senior players will also have to answer. He said, “If this kind of bowling attack remains, will you be able to beat England 3-0 or 2-0 or 1-0? I think not, because it is a one-dimensional team, bowlers of the same pace. To me, this seems like a first class bowling attack, it did not seem like a Test cricket attack. Why would anyone watch Pakistan’s Test cricket now, because when you open channels where you can find world cricket and quality and classy cricket, then why would anyone stop at any channel for Pakistan.”
