The level of exam for SBI PO is tougher than IBPS PO. The SBI PO selection process consists of the following stages-

The pattern of prelims and mains exam is MCQ.
The shortlisted candidates after the final selection will be subsequently placed in one of the participating banks of the IBPS recruitment drive. Both SBI PO and SBI PO Prelims exam is a qualifying paper but candidates have to clear the cut-off to appear in Mains exam. Thereafter, the qualified candidates go through a common interview.
Job Profile of IBPS PO and SBI PO
The job profile of both IBPS PO exam and SBI PO exam is similar. In addition to administrative work, a Probationary Officer in a bank has to perform the following functions:
The most important job of a Probationary Officer is customer service. It is a very broad concept which includes solving the queries of the customers visiting the bank branch for various services like availing loans, opening new accounts, deposits, chequebooks, credit cards, ATM services and online banking etc. Apart from this, a PO is also engaged in the management of customers’ accounts, cash handling activities such as cash disbursal and cash collection from cashiers as well as clearance of payments. Sometimes APO may also have to perform clerical duties during work pressure. Some of the other tasks include clearing payments, maintaining reports and official correspondence with other departments.
