New Delhi: ED, which is investigating the liquor scam case, can decide the further strategy regarding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday. Actually, ED has sent summons to Kejriwal and called him for questioning on 21st December. But Kejriwal has left for Vipassana center on 20th December i.e. today. Let us tell you that he will stay in the Vipassana center till 30th December. In such a situation, it is clear that he will not appear on the summons of ED on Thursday 21st December in the money laundering case related to Delhi Liquor Policy.
Will Kejriwal send his reply to the summons or not?
Now it remains to be seen whether Kejriwal will send a reply to this summons to ED or not. After this, ED can decide in this matter what will be their further strategy regarding Kejriwal. It is possible that the agency may send a fresh summons to the AAP convener immediately or may call him again only after his arrival. Let us tell you that ED had last sent summons to Arvind Kejriwal in this case and asked him to appear on November 2, but even during this time he did not appear.
Kejriwal did not appear last time also
Ignoring the previous summons of ED, Kejriwal had reached Madhya Pradesh to campaign in the assembly elections. Kejriwal had written a letter to ED saying that this is illegal and politically motivated. He had said that BJP is doing all this under the politics of revenge. While targeting ED, Kejriwal had made many other serious allegations against BJP. At the same time, BJP leaders also targeted Kejriwal.
What steps can ED take now?
If Kejriwal does not appear after ED summons, what can the agency do next? This summons is under money laundering. ED can give time to the person appearing if he shows valid reasons. Then summons can be given again or after that. If no one comes thrice on ED’s summons then they can take legal route. After this, ED can apply to the court for non-bailable warrant. The court can then issue a non-bailable warrant.
