The name of this new feature for status updates is Like Reaction- Status Updates. The new feature gives users the option to react to status updates with a heart emoji. WABetaInfo has given information about this new feature in WhatsApp. Apart from this, the company is also going to roll out a strong update for messages coming from unknown accounts.

WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot of the like reaction feature of the status update. You can see this new feature in the shared screenshot. In this, you will get the option of heart emoji next to the reply bar to react to the status update. On reacting with the heart emoji, the users updating the status will also get a notification, which will let them know that someone has liked their status update. The list of users who like the status will be visible in the normal viewer sheet itself. With this, the users updating the status will be able to easily know which contacts have liked their update.
According to WABetaInfo, the reaction feature for status updates is protected by end-to-end encryption. This feature has just been seen in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.17.21. It is expected that after beta testing, the company will roll out its stable version for global users.
New message blocking feature
The list of new features of WhatsApp includes a feature to block messages coming from unknown accounts. The company is currently working on this feature. WABetaInfo gave information about this feature by posting on X. A screenshot of this upcoming feature of WhatsApp has also been shared in this X post. In the shared screenshot, you can see the option of block messages from unknown account.
By enabling this feature, the unknown WhatsApp account sending the message after the set limit of sending messages will be automatically blocked. This feature can prove to be very effective in stopping spam messages coming on WhatsApp. WABetaInfo has seen this feature in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.24.17.24 available on Google Play Store. This feature is still being developed. The company will roll out its stable update in the coming days.
