When will the Republic Day parade start, what will be special, where to see, know everything
Parade will start at 10.30 am
The Republic Day parade will begin at 10:30 am. A unique amalgamation of cultural diversity along with the country’s military might will be seen in the parade. This time the parade depicts the growing indigenous capabilities of the country, women power and the emergence of ‘New India’. The parade ceremony will begin with Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the National War Memorial. PM Modi will pay tribute to the martyrs there by offering flowers on behalf of the country. Thereafter, the Prime Minister and other dignitaries will proceed to the Saluting Platform on the duty path to view the parade.
Salute to the martyrdom of the heroes
After this, gallantry awards will be given. Personnel from the Indian Army, Air Force, Navy and Paramilitary Forces will participate in the parade. Apart from the Indian forces, marching contingents of the Egyptian Army will also participate. 23 tableaux from 17 states will also participate in the parade. In these tableaux, the country’s rich cultural heritage, economic and social progress and internal and external security will be shown.
Salute from indigenous field gun for the first time
As per tradition, the national flag will be hoisted. This will be followed by the national anthem with a 21-gun salute. For the first time ever, a 21-gun salute will be fired from 105 mm Indian field guns. It replaced the old 25-pounder gun. This reflects the country’s growing ‘self-reliance’ in the defense sector. Thereafter, four Mi-17 1V/V5 helicopters of 105 Helicopter Unit will shower flowers on the spectators present on the duty path. The parade will begin with the President taking the salute.
Live telecast on Doordarshan
Doordarshan will telecast the Republic Day live from the path of duty. In such a situation, people can watch the live telecast of Republic Day Parade on their TV, laptop and mobile. The telecast of the program on Doordarshan’s National and YouTube channels will start from 9.15 am even before the parade begins. The parade can also be viewed on Prasar Bharati’s YouTube channel. Apart from this, the commentary of the parade can also be heard on the online platform of All India Radio.
