Who will be the candidate in Haryana, who will get a chance in Jammu and Kashmir? BJP will decide tomorrow

The dates for the Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections have been announced. Now all the parties have started their preparations. The BJP Central Election Committee (CEC) will meet tomorrow on 25 August at the party headquarters in Delhi to finalize the names of the candidates.

Earlier on Friday, the BJP termed the pre-poll alliance between the Congress and the National Conference (NC) in Jammu and Kashmir as “unholy” and asked the Congress if it supported its ally’s agenda to “break up India”. A day earlier, NC president Farooq Abdullah announced his party’s alliance with the Congress for all 90 assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir, where assembly elections are due in September for the first time since the state was made a union territory.

“An unholy alliance has been formed to gain power. The Congress party and the National Conference have come together and announced an alliance, which has raised many questions,” BJP leader Smriti Irani said at a press conference at the party headquarters here. She said the National Conference has publicly declared that it will restore Article 370 and 35A if it comes to power. She asked the Congress if it supports the Abdullah-led party’s agenda of breaking up India.

“The National Conference talks of a separate flag. Does the Congress party support the National Conference’s promise of a separate flag for Jammu and Kashmir,” Irani asked. “The NC talks of trade across the LoC while Pakistan continues to nurture the ecosystem associated with terrorism and terrorists. Does the Congress party support the Pakistani agenda of creating unrest in Jammu and Kashmir,” Irani said.
