‘Will not tolerate oppression of any Punjabi’, CM Bhagwant Mann furious over youth’s death – India TV Hindi

Chandigarh/New Delhi. A group of thousands of farmers from Punjab has announced a Delhi march. However, for the last several weeks, the farmers of Punjab have been stopped by the Haryana Police at the border. There have also been reports of violent clashes between farmer protesters and Haryana Police on the Shambhu and Khanauri border located on the Punjab-Haryana border on Wednesday, in which there is news of the death of a youth from Punjab who was involved in the protest. Now Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has also come forward and expressed his anger.

Will not tolerate oppression – Bhagwant Mann

As soon as the news of the death of a youth spread on the Punjab-Haryana border, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann immediately came forward. He said that 21 year old Shubhakaran died at Khanauri border. Bhagwant Mann said that he will conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and will not tolerate oppression of any Punjabi. Bhagwant Mann appealed to the Central Government to resolve the issue through talks instead of oppressing the farmers.

If Haryana government had not stopped the farmers

Bhagwant Mann has said that it is my duty to work as a bridge between the Center and farmer organizations. It is the job of the Center to accept the demands and it is the job of the organizations to accept the proposals. He said that the farmers want to go to Delhi and if the Haryana government had not stopped them, the farmers would have moved ahead. No meeting was held with farmers after 22 January 2021.

Law and order absolutely fine in Punjab- Bhagwant Mann

Bhagwant Mann has said that today we have deployed SSF vehicles and ambulances at the border for the farmers. Besides, two ministers and an MLA who is an eye doctor have also been put on duty. Mann said that I will stand with Shubhakaran’s family and the death will be investigated and action will be taken. Punjab CM further said that law and order is absolutely fine in Punjab, I appeal to everyone for peace.

It is important to maintain peace- Arjun Munda

Amidst the fierce protests by farmers, Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda said on Wednesday that the Center is ready to discuss all issues. Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda wrote on Twitter, “After the fourth round, the government is ready to discuss all the issues like demand for guarantee of MSP, crop diversification, stubble issue, FIR in the fifth round. I appeal to the farmer leaders to discuss again. “It is important for us to maintain peace.”
