Will Smriti Irani be the chief ministerial face of BJP in Delhi? What did she say on the speculations

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former MP from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, Smriti Irani was seen speaking openly in front of the camera for the first time after the Lok Sabha elections. During this, she also talked about many issues including the election results. Irani said, ‘In the last 10 elections, my name comes up even in street corner elections. In the mayor’s election, in the MLA’s election, in the assembly elections. There is no election where my name does not come up. Now I do not trust these things completely.’ Elections may be held in February 2025 for 70 assembly seats of the capital Delhi.

However, he did not give a clear answer regarding the CM candidate for Delhi. He said, ‘If you get a chance to serve the people of your country, state or society, then it is a privilege. How many people are there in a country of 140-145 crores who can go to Parliament? Who can go to Parliament three times? Can be a minister of 5-6 departments. Whatever chance you get is a privilege.’

She said, ‘In the organisation too, I have been a national minister twice, national president of Mahila Morcha, vice-president of Yuva Morcha. I have been a member of the national executive five times. When Gadkari sahab became the president of Maharashtra for the first time, I was the secretary. I have served the organisation and the government so much that if I look at the opportunity now, I look at it from the perspective of service.’
