Railways has started the exercise to replace the coupling connecting the two bogies. The bogies of LHB rake will be connected with semi-automatic coupling. This coupling will not open even at high speed. Shocks will not be felt even at a speed of 130. A plan is being prepared to install semi-automatic coupling system in LHB bogies in North Eastern Railway.

Incidents of a moving train splitting into two parts occur frequently. This accident occurs due to opening of the coupling connecting two bogies. But now such accidents will become history. For this, Railways has started a big change. Preparations are underway to launch the semi-automatic coupling system soon. This system will provide comfort to the passengers along with safety. With the new coupling system, the bogies will not separate even at high speed or due to shock and passengers will also not feel the shock when stopped. The Railway Board has implemented arrangements regarding this. Soon the work of changing the couplings of bogies will start in the workshop of North Eastern Railway.

This technology will also be effective in trains running at 130 km/h speed. At present, bogies are connected together using CBC coupler technology due to which passengers feel a shock when the train stops or starts. Also, there is a risk of opening if the coupling becomes loose.

There have been many incidents of separation of bogies.

There have been many incidents of bogies getting separated from each other at high speed. Due to this, there is a possibility of an accident and the train also gets delayed by hours. To overcome this problem, the Railway Board has taken the initiative to install the technology in LHB bogies on priority basis.

Most danger in traditional coach

The highest risk of coupling opening is in conventional bogies. Actually, here the coupling of bogies is done on the hook. In such a situation, there is a possibility of it opening frequently.
