Woman given alcohol and raped on road, uproar after Ujjain video went viral

There was a stir after the video of a roadside rape in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh went viral on social media. The video is said to be from Wednesday evening. In the viral video, a young man is seen doing obscene acts with a woman. After the video of this incident surfaced, the police came into action and the accused has been arrested.

After this incident, the police has given detailed information. Police says that the young man made the woman drink alcohol by promising marriage and then raped her, then fled after threatening her. After the video came to light, the victim woman was brought to the police station, where the police took immediate action on the complaint and took the accused youth into custody. The victim woman told that the young man met her near a liquor shop and lured her into marriage, then raped her and fled after threatening her. After recording the woman’s statement, she was sent to the hospital for medical examination.

On this incident, Kotwali CSP Omprakash Mishra said that a video of a rape incident was found near the liquor shop of Koyla Phatak in Ujjain. Taking cognizance of this video, the woman was brought to the police station and immediate action was taken on the woman’s complaint and the accused was taken into custody. Police said that the accused had made the woman drink alcohol and begged her to marry him and said that he would always be with her. But after raping her, the young man threatened her and ran away from there. He said that this was a very serious incident. After the victim’s complaint, the accused has been arrested.

State Congress President Jeetu Patwari’s reaction has also come to the fore on the viral video. He posted on ‘X’ and wrote, “The religious city of Ujjain has once again been tarnished. This time too, the law and order has been tarnished. If this is the condition of the Chief Minister’s hometown, then the condition of the rest of the state can be easily understood. The continuous atrocities against Dalit and tribal women can also be felt.”
