A social media influencer had reached Afghanistan to see the Taliban and its work. The woman has also shared a picture with the Taliban while traveling in Afghanistan, due to which she has been badly surrounded. The Talibanis standing in the picture have dangerous rifles, for which the woman is being condemned. This woman is none other than Somali American Mariane Abdi, who is known as Giniada Madow on social media. Abdi has written on social media that coming to Afghanistan was like a dream for her, which has now come true.
Along with this, she shared a picture in which Taliban fighters are seen with AK-47 rifles. With this picture, Abdi wrote, ‘Meeting the Taliban.’ Abdi is seen smiling in the picture. Many social media users have described it as glorification of violence and armed Taliban. While responding to the criticism, Abdi has written that what wrong have I done. Abdi wrote, ‘I really want to know what should I do? Should I not have gone to Afghanistan? Do you think that a tourist should be concerned with the politics of the Taliban?’
Abdi wrote that if I had not shared the picture with those people, would anything have changed? Clarifying her position, she said that as a foreign tourist, I was just interested in seeing the country. She said that yes, a lot is happening there, but what is my fault in this? Not only this, Abdi threw a question towards those who questioned her. She said that many YouTubers have gone to Afghanistan and made videos. Then why am I being treated differently? Should a content creator completely boycott Afghanistan?
