Yogi government is kind to influencers; Earns up to 8 lakhs a month from tweets, reels, videos promoting schemes

The government of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced the UP Digital Media Policy 2024. The Yogi government’s policy is favorable to influencers who have a good number of followers on social media platforms like X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube. Social media influencers can earn up to Rs 2 to 8 lakh per month by praising and describing the schemes and achievements of the UP government. For this, the government has created four categories of influencers based on the number of followers or subscribers. Arrangements have been made to pay them at different fixed rates per month for promoting government schemes.

In a statement, Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, said that with the release of UP Digital Media Policy 2024, a large number of people of UP living in the country and abroad will get employment opportunities. To take advantage of this policy, agencies or influencers will have to register with the government after which advertisements will be issued to them. The government aims to widely publicize the achievements along with development and public welfare schemes through digital media.

Who will earn how much on social media from UP Digital Media Policy?

Under the UP Digital Media Policy 2024, agencies or influencers have to create content, videos, tweets, posts and reels on the schemes and achievements of the government, for which they will be encouraged through cash payment. In four categories created on the basis of the number of followers, users of X, Instagram and Facebook can get Rs 2 lakh, 3 lakh, 4 lakh and 5 lakh rupees per month. Up to Rs 4 lakh, 6 lakh, 7 lakh and 8 lakh rupees will be paid in four categories for making advertising videos, shorts or podcasts on YouTube.

What has the government prohibited in the UP Digital Media Policy?

The UP government has also banned some things which are illegal in the Digital Media Policy 2024. The government has said that no content should be indecent, obscene and anti-national under any circumstances. The government has warned that legal action will also be taken against the concerned influencer or agency for publishing objectionable content.
