You will be able to visit Prayagraj’s Maha Kumbh Mela sitting at home, everything will be visible from tents to roads – Hindustan News Hub

Prayagraj: The whole world is keeping an eye on the Kumbh Mela which is going to be held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh early next year. Crores of people are expected to attend this largest gathering of humans on earth. However, there are a large number of people who wish to go to Mahakumbh but are unable to go due to some reasons. To fulfill the dreams of such people, the Indian Institute of Information Technology i.e. IIIT, located in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, is working. IIIT is working on several projects for the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela, one of which is to give people a virtual tour of the fair.

‘The entire Mahakumbh Mela can be seen with the help of Hololens’

IIIT Director Professor Mukul Sharad Sutavane said about the 19th convocation of the institute in Prayagraj that the institute is preparing ‘Augmented Reality Software’ for the Kumbh Mela. He told that after the development of this software, the user can roam around the entire fair area and see everything by wearing Microsoft’s ‘Hololens’ i.e. virtual reality camera without going to the fair. With its help, he can also see where the tents are set up, where the bathing arrangements are and where the roads are. Sutavane said that IIIT Allahabad has got the responsibility of testing and verifying the AI ​​cameras and other IT equipment being installed for the Kumbh Mela as well as the app being made for the travelers.

673 students will get degrees in the convocation ceremony

Professor Sutawane told about the 19th convocation ceremony going to be held on October 5 that its chief guest will be Kiran Deshpande, former CEO of IT company Tech Mahindra, while the special guest will be Professor Anil Sahastrabuddhe, President of NETF, NBA and Director of NAC. Sutavane said that a total of 673 students will be awarded various degrees in the convocation ceremony and 22 meritorious students will be given medals by the institute. He informed that in the convocation, degrees will be awarded to 432 graduate and 195 post-graduate students and 30 researchers will be awarded PhD degrees. Institute student Inder Sonu will be awarded the Chairman’s Gold Medal. (Language)
