Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has praised Virat Kohli wholeheartedly. Looking at his current form, he called Joe Root the best Test batsman but chose Virat in all formats.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan had described Joe Root as a better batsman than Virat Kohli a few days ago. There has been a lot of comparison between Joe Root and Virat Kohli’s Test stats in recent times. Many great players of the world have given their opinion on this. Now former Team India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has also given his opinion on this. Yuvi told how it is difficult to compare the two players. He may have described Joe Root as a better Test batsman considering his current form, but at the same time he has also praised Virat Kohli.
Yuvraj Singh was accompanied by Michael Vaughan and former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist in the Club Prairie Fire podcast. When Yuvi was asked about the comparison between Virat Kohli and Joe Root, he said, ‘If you are playing in England, then there is no doubt that you will choose Joe Root, but if you have to play around the world, then I will choose Virat Kohli. Because I know that there are some wickets on which he can cause a lot of damage to the opposing team.’
Yuvraj further said, ‘This question is quite debatable. If you look at the current form, I would definitely choose Joe Root, but if you look at all the formats, I would choose Virat Kohli without any doubt.’ Virat Kohli is currently playing in the India vs Bangladesh Test series. Virat Kohli could not do anything special in both the innings of the first Test match. Virat Kohli has played very few Test matches in recent times. This year when the England team came to India, Virat Kohli was not a part of the Test team, he had taken a break.
