Who is Mukesh Chaudhary who made headlines by dismissing Virat Kohli

MUMBAI: Left-arm pacer Mukesh Chaudhary will not forget Tuesday’s day. This player of Chennai Super Kings was a net bowler till last year and now he sent Royal Challengers Bangalore’s star batsman Virat Kohli to the pavilion. It was a really big day for Chowdhary. After getting this wicket at the DY Patil Stadium, the happiness on his face was visible.

He gave a big blow to Bangalore by dismissing Kohli. This ball was not very good but the length ball was played by Kohli at deep square leg. Kohli played an aerial shot. Timing was good. But Kohli made a mistake. He forgot that a fielder has been kept there for this shot only. There was only one fielder present and the ball went into the hands of the same Shivam Dubey. In domestic cricket, Chaudhary plays for Maharashtra. He made his IPL debut in the same year against Lucknow Super Giants.

Chaudhary hails from Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. The 25-year-old was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the auction held in February this year for a base price of Rs 20 lakh.

Chaudhary made his domestic cricket debut in the year 2017 against Railways. He then made his List A and T20 debut in the 2019 season. After his stellar performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, people’s eyes fell on this player. He was the highest wicket-taker for Maharashtra in the 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy (50 overs domestic tournament).

Talking about the match, Chennai Super Kings scored 216 runs for four wickets. Uthappa scored 88 in 50 balls and Dubey scored 95 runs in 46 balls for Chennai sent to bat first. The duo shared a 74-ball 165-run partnership for the third wicket, which is the highest partnership of the season.

Earlier, in their 200th IPL match, Chennai lost two wickets for 36 runs. Uthappa and Dubey smashed the RCB bowlers around the ground. Uthappa hit nine sixes and four fours while Dubey hit eight sixes and five fours in his innings. Both also made their personal highest scores in the league.
