Ganeshotsav is being celebrated all over the country. Lord Ganesha’s favourite dish is Ukdiche Modak. Ukdiche means cooked with steam. That is, Bappa’s favourite Prasad Modak is prepared by cooking it with steam. If you have not made Bappa’s favourite Prasad yet, then let us tell you how to make it.
Ingredients for making Ukadiche Modak
One cup rice flour, 2 teaspoons ghee, 1 grated coconut, one cup jaggery, cardamom powder, a pinch of salt and saffron
How to make Ukadiche Modak?

Step 1: To make Ukdiche Modak, first prepare the dough for Modak. Turn on the gas and place a deep vessel and add a cup of water, a pinch of salt and a spoonful of ghee in it. When the vessel becomes slightly warm, then reduce the flame and add rice flour to it. Stir the rice well. When the rice dough is ready, turn off the gas. Now take out this dough in a bowl and after it cools down a bit, knead it well.

Step 2: To make the stuffing inside the modak, grate the coconut finely. Heat a pan, add ghee to it and fry the coconut till it turns golden. Now add jaggery, cardamom powder and saffron to it. Mix all the ingredients well and let it cook for some time.

Step 3: Roll out the rice flour and make small balls out of it. Apply ghee in the modak making mould and put the dough in it. Now fill the prepared stuffing in it and close the mould and make modaks.

Step 4: After shaping all the modaks, heat water in a vessel and place another vessel with holes on top of it so that the steam can reach the modaks. Now steam the modaks until they are cooked.
