If you get something healthy and tasty to eat for breakfast, then your mood remains good throughout the day. Cheela is a good option for breakfast. However, some people get bored of eating gram flour cheela and moong dal cheela. In such a situation, you can make and eat chana dal cheela to change the taste. Chana dal cheela will give energy to your body and you will also get essential nutrients. You can add your favorite vegetables to chana dal cheela. Eat this cheela with green coriander or mint chutney. Know the recipe for making chana dal cheela.

Ingredients to make Chana Dal Cheela:

  • Bengal gram dal – 2 cups
  • Green coriander – 2 tbsp finely chopped
  • Onion – 1 finely chopped
  • Tomato – 1 finely chopped
  • Carrot – 1 grated
  • Green chillies – 2-3 finely chopped
  • Curd – half cup
  • Salt to taste
  • some oil

Chana Dal Cheela Recipe:

  1. To prepare chana dal cheela, soak the lentils in water for 3-4 hours and then drain the water and grind it finely in a mixer.

  2. While grinding the lentils, you can add green chillies and grind them at the same time. This will prevent the chillies from coming into the mouth immediately and a mild flavour will come throughout.

  3. Take out the lentil paste in a bowl and add finely chopped vegetables like onion, tomato and carrot to it. Now mix half a cup of curd in the batter. If the batter seems thick for the chilla, then add some water.

  4. The batter for the chilla should not be too thin or too thick. Now add salt and mix everything well. Leave the batter aside for 5-10 minutes and till then prepare the chutney for the chilla.

  5. Now take a tawa or pan and heat it. Now grease it with a little oil and spread the prepared chilla batter. You have to make the chilla as big as a roti. Bake the chilla on medium flame and then flip it.

  6. Cook the chilla from the other side as well and when it is cooked well from both the sides, take it out in a plate. Now keep the chutney prepared with this chilla and serve it for breakfast. Believe me, this chilla is very tasty. You must try this recipe once.
