Bal Gopal Kanha was very fond of eating and drinking. Kanha never gets satisfied with milk, curd and butter. That is why in childhood, Kanha’s mother Yashoda beat him several times for being a butter thief. Kanha used to feel restless on seeing the pot of butter. In such a situation, on the day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, offer butter and sugar candy to Kanha and feed him the prasad of Panchamrit. Panchamrit can be easily prepared at home with curd and some other things. You can make the prasad of Panchamrit quickly with this recipe.
How to make Panchamrit, here is the recipe:
-
step 1- Panchamrit is prepared from curd. You can use fresh homemade curd or market curd for this. Blend the curd lightly by stirring it with a churner. You can also dilute it by adding some water to it.
-
Step 2- Now finely chop all the dry fruits for Panchamrit. You can add any dry fruit of your choice in it. Chironji and roasted makhana taste very good in Panchamrit. Do add these two things.
-
Step 3- Now grind the sugar and mix it in the Panchamrit. If you want, you can also add powdered sugar. You have to add enough sugar so that the curd becomes sweet enough. Now it is time to add the five Amrits in it.
-
Step 4- Panchamrit is prepared from five nectars which include curd, milk, honey, Gangajal and ghee. Mix these things little by little in curd. Now add basil leaves and chopped dry fruits in it.
-
Step 5- To enhance the taste, mix half a teaspoon of cardamom powder in the Panchamrit. This will give a very nice fragrance. Now when you offer Panchamrit or serve it to someone, add roasted makhana to it and serve.
-
Step 6- You can also add chopped ripe bananas to Panchamrit. You can eat this Panchamrit as is or mix it with Panjiri. Panchamrit and Panjiri are included in Kanha’s offering. You can also offer only Panchamrit as Prasad.
