In this condition, rough patches and rashes appear on the hands, legs, stomach, back and buttocks which sting like bites when touched. These tiny bumps cause accumulation of keratin around the hair follicle.
Causes of Keratosis Pilaris:
Keratosis pilaris is hereditary and is passed from generation to generation. Keratosis pilaris is also caused by eczema or dermatitis. Dry skin can make keratosis pilaris worse. Shaving on dry skin can also cause keratosis pilaris. Apart from this, people also fall prey to this problem due to deficiency of soluble vitamins like Vitamin A and E, reduced bile and insulin resistance.
