New Delhi. People going directly to Ayodhya from Delhi NCR are going to get air service soon. The Civil Aviation Ministry is preparing to start this service this year, so that devotees can conveniently visit the birth place of Lord Ram. Apart from this, there are plans to start flights to many more cities of the state.
According to the Union Civil Aviation Minister General VK Singh, air service from Hindon Airport to major and religious cities of Uttar Pradesh will be started within a year. At present, there are regular flights from Hindon Airport to two cities Kalaburagi and Hubli in Karnataka. Flights to Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Lucknow will be started from here soon. Apart from this, flights are also proposed for Nashik and Kushinagar. All these flights will be started under the UDAN scheme.
State’s tourism ministry is promoting
Tourism will get a boost after the start of flight services to some major cities of Uttar Pradesh. State Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said that the ministry is continuously making efforts to promote tourism in the state. For this, the connectivity of major religious and tourist places is being improved. This includes road, rail, air and waterways.
Many routes of the state are proposed under the UDAN scheme
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has identified 766 routes across the country to introduce affordable air travel to smaller cities. Out of this, air travel has been started on 433 routes under UDAN 1, 2 and 3 scheme. The ministry will soon start air service on the remaining routes. At the same time, flights are being operated from 70 airports of the country under the UDAN scheme. Apart from Uttar Pradesh, cities of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal, Gujarat, Uttarakhand are being connected by air route.
