Budget 2023-24: Rs 10 crore reduction in the expenditure of Rashtrapati Bhavan; Minority ministry’s expenditure also reduced
New Delhi. The government has allocated Rs 36.22 crore in the Union Budget 2023-24 for the expenditure of Rashtrapati Bhavan, which includes the salaries of the employees. This amount is Rs 10 crore less than the revised estimates for the current financial year. According to the budget document presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday, Rs 90.14 crore has been allocated for the President’s office and other expenditure, which is Rs 5.34 crore more than the Rs 84.8 crore announced in the previous budget.
The document reveals that out of the total allocation, Rs 60 lakh has been earmarked for the salary and allowances of the President. At the same time, Rs 53.32 crore is for the President’s Secretariat and Rs 36.22 crore is for other expenses of the Rashtrapati Bhavan including the salaries of the employees. According to the budget document, the allocation for the President’s Secretariat has been increased by Rs 15.39 crore.

More than 38 percent reduction in the budget of Minorities Ministry
At the same time, in the budget for the financial year 2023-24, a reduction of more than 38 percent has been made for the Ministry of Minority Affairs as compared to the previous budget. According to the allocation made in the budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, an allocation of Rs 3097.66 crore has been made for the Ministry of Minority Affairs in the coming financial year, while an allocation of Rs 5020.50 crore has been made in the budget presented for the financial year 2022-23. it was done.
The revised budget in the year 2022-23 was Rs 2612.66 crore. In this budget, an allocation of Rs 433 crore has been made for pre-matric scholarship and Rs 1065 crore for post-matric scholarship.
A total of Rs 1689 crore has been spent on the educational empowerment of minorities.
