Chaitra Navratri has started from 22 March. Many auspicious coincidences are happening on the first day of Navratri. On this day, Maa Durga is worshiped with the establishment of Kalash. Mother Shailputri is worshiped on the first day of Navratri.

The first fast of Chaitra Navratri is on 22 March. Ghat Sthapana is considered the most special on the first day of Navratri. For Ghat Sthapana, it is most important that you establish the Kalash in an auspicious time only. Navratri is starting from Wednesday. But Abhijeet Muhurta is not used on this day. Ghat can be established in Gemini and Pisces ascendant also. Please tell that Navratri is starting in Shukla and Brahma Yoga. Dwiswabhav Lagna is considered best for Ghat Sthapana. Ishan angle is considered auspicious for Ghat installation. By setting up a ghat in the north-east angle, there is always happiness and prosperity in the house and blessings remain.

How to do the installation

On the first day of Chaitra Navratri, take an earthen pot for Ghat Sthapana and place it in the northeast corner in an auspicious time. First take some rice and place the Kalash on it. Then put a coin of 1 rupee inside the urn and tie a red chunri on the urn by keeping mango leaves. Also tie kalava on the kalash and make a swastika symbol on it. Keep in mind that the place where you are setting up the Kalash. That place should be clean. Apart from this, there should not be any almirah etc. or stuff above the place of worship.

On the first day of Chaitra Navratri i.e. on March 22, the time for Ghat Sthapana is auspicious from 06.23 am to 07.39 am. After this, the time of Rahukaal is considered inauspicious. That’s why establish Ghat before Rahukaal starts. The time of Rahukaal on the first day of Chaitra Navratri is from 12: 28 minutes to 1:59 minutes in the afternoon. That’s why don’t do Kalash Sthapana and Durga Puja even by mistake in Rahukaal.

Maa Durga’s ride in Navratri is decided on the basis of the day. If Navratri starts on Sunday or Monday, then Maa Durga arrives on an elephant. On the other hand, if Navratri starts from Saturday or Tuesday, then Maa Durga comes riding on a horse. Maa Durga arrives on a doli on Thursdays and Fridays. Whereas if Navratri starts from Wednesday like this time, then Maa Durga’s ride is a boat.
