New Delhi. There has been a tremendous increase in the sales of electric two-wheelers in the country in the last month i.e. October. According to the data shared on the government website Vahan (Vahan), which keeps track of new vehicle registrations, the total sales of electric two-wheelers in October stood at 75,294 units, which is the highest ever in the country.

The sales figure of electric two-wheeler is 30 percent higher than the sales of units recorded during the same month last year. Also this is more than 52,975 units sold in September this year and 51,213 units sold in August. Industry experts say that the main reasons for the increase in sales are the launch of new products in some markets, timely deliveries and good demand during the festive season.

Ola Electric on top

Ola Electric topped the market for the second time in October with sales of 15,065 units. As per the vehicle data, there has been an increase of nearly 50 per cent as compared to the 9,875 units sold in September. At the same time, Okinawa has been at number two with sales of 13,144 units. It is followed by Ampere with 9,173 units, Hero Electric fourth with 8,348 units and Ather Energy at number five with 7,087 units.

Ola has delivered 20 thousand scooters

This is a big achievement for Ola Electric. Ola said that it has delivered 20,000 electric scooters in the last month. This is the biggest figure ever. This is the highest for any EV brand in India. The company said in a statement that Ola has registered a month-on-month growth of more than 60 percent. The statement said that it registered a strong performance during the festive season, with the company selling 4 times the number of vehicles during Navratras and 10 times on Vijayadashami.

Now more people are buying electric vehicles

Sohinder Gill, General Director, Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV) and CEO of Hero Electric, told Moneycontrol, “In the last six to seven months, people who come to our showrooms already have a petrol bike in their mind.
