Importance of Gangaur festival
In Gangaur festival, Gana means Shiva and Gaur means Mother Parvati. This worship is dedicated to Shiva-Parvati. On this day women make idols of Shiva-Parvati from clay. This festival is also known as Gauri Tritiya. According to belief, Maa Parvati travels the earth with God to bless married women with unbroken good fortune. Gangaur festival is celebrated for 17 days
Different brightness of this festival is seen in Rajasthan. There this festival is celebrated from the full moon day of Phalgun month. Which lasts for the next 17 days. In these 17 days, idols of Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva are made everyday. During this, worship and songs are also sung. On the other hand, on the third day of Chai Navratri, women wear sixteen adornments and keep a fast and in the evening, the story of Gangaur is heard. According to belief, the more ornaments are offered to Maa Parvati on the day of Badi Gangaur, the more wealth and splendor increases in the house by the grace of Maa Parvati.
