New Delhi. There is good news for the residents of Gorakhpur. Purvanchal Expressway will be connected to Gorakhpur soon. 62 percent of the work of connecting Gorakhpur Link Expressway with Purvanchal Expressway has been completed. By December 2023, the remaining 35 percent will be completed.
With this link expressway, the journey between Gorakhpur and Lucknow will be completed in just 3.30 hours in the coming days. This link expressway is being constructed starting near Jaitpur village of Gorakhpur till Salarpur village of Azamgarh. The construction work of Gorakhpur Link Expressway started from 10 February 2020. Its length is 91.35 km.

Gorakhpur Link Expressway will pass through 4 districts
Gorakhpur Link Expressway will pass through 4 districts of UP namely Gorakhpur, Ambedkarnagar, Santakbirnagar and Azamgarh. 7 flyovers, 7 major bridges, 27 minor bridges, 100 underpasses and 389 culverts are being constructed under expressway construction.
Approval for construction of industrial corridor on both sides of Link Expressway
The UP government has approved the construction of an industrial corridor on both sides of the Link Expressway. A budget of Rs 200 crore has been allocated for this. After the construction of Link Expressway, Gorakhpur city can be reached from Purvanchal Expressway in just a few hours.
Rs 5876 crore budget released for the project
A budget of Rs 5876 crore has been released for this project of Gorakhpur Link Expressway. This link expressway will pass through Rapti river, Aminadi, Kuano and Ghaghra river.
