India-Australia bilateral trade will double in 5 years, FTA approved by Australian Parliament
New Delhi. The Parliament of Australia has approved the Free Trade Agreement (India-Australia Free Trade Agreement- FTA) with India. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has given this information through a tweet. The bill related to the agreement passed easily in the House of Representatives.
Today, on Tuesday, this bill will be placed in the Senate. This agreement between India and Australia took place in April, 2022. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) and Australian Prime Minister Albanese had informal talks about this agreement in the G20 meeting held in Indonesia. Earlier, the Parliamentary Committee on Treaties in Australia had recommended the government to approve the trade agreement with India.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese tweeted today, “Our Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with India has been passed by Parliament.” Australia’s Trade Minister Don Farrell said that India has reiterated its commitment to bilateral economic partnership and this agreement has come to an end.
