Kaam Ki Baat: How to make rent payment through credit card on PhonePe app

New Delhi. You must be using the digital payment app PhonePe to buy goods from grocery stores, pay water and electricity bills, book gas cylinders, recharge mobiles or make bill payments. Do you know that you can also pay house rent i.e. monthly room rent to your landlord through your credit card through PhonePe, the digital payment company of Walmart group.

1.5% processing charge on rent payment but reward points
However, a processing charge of 1.5 per cent is also levied on credit card rental payments through the PhonePe app. But you also get cashback or reward points. For example, on rent payment of Rs 10,000, you will have to pay Rs 10,150.

Rent Payment Process on PhonePe App
1. First of all update the PhonePe application.
2. After this, open the PhonePe app and click on See All in the Recharge & Pay Bills section.
3. Now in the Utilities section you will see the option of Rent Payment.
4. After clicking on Rent Payment, you will see 4 options – Home/Shop Rent, Society Maintenance, Broker Payment and Property Deposit
5.After clicking Home/Shop Rent, enter the details of the landlord/beneficiary’s bank account or UPI ID.
6. After this enter the amount of rent.
7. Now select the credit card in the payment mode.
8.The rent amount will be deposited in the bank account of the landlord/beneficiary.

Benefits of paying rent with credit card
>> Save your cash by using credit limit. Credit card dues are usually paid after 45-50 days. In this way, you can earn something by investing the rent money somewhere.
>> You can convert the transaction done through credit card into EMI. This means that you can also pay the rent through EMI.
>> Cashback or reward points are also available on transactions done through credit cards.
