Jackfruit Kofta Making Tips: There is a lot of jackfruit vegetable in the summer and rainy season. Various types of dishes are made from jackfruit. Nutrients of jackfruit- Jackfruit is one such vegetable which is rich in nutrients. Elements like vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B6, calcium, potassium, iron, folic acid, magnesium are found in jackfruit.

Ingredients for making Jackfruit Kofta

  • Jackfruit – 250 grams
  • Poha – 2 tsp
  • Besan – 1 tsp
  • Onion – 1 big
  • Green chili – 3
  • Tomato – 1
  • garlic ginger paste
  • Cumin, asafoetida and mustard oil for tempering
  • Spices include garam masala, turmeric, celery and salt
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Jackfruit Kofta

  • First of all, wash the jackfruit and boil it after adding 1 teaspoon of salt. Keep in mind that take such jackfruit which has less seeds and is of small size.
  • Wash and crush the poha. Apart from this, make a thick batter of gram flour.
  • Now mash the boiled jackfruit and add poha to it. Add turmeric, salt, a pinch of ajwain, a pinch of asafetida to it.
  • Make round balls out of it and fry them by dipping them in gram flour. The flame of the gas should be kept low.
  • Now to make gravy, add oil to the pan and add cumin, asafoetida. After this add onion, garlic paste, tomato and fry it.
  • You can also add 1 teaspoon gram flour to make the gravy thick. When the masala leaves the oil, add hot water to it.
  • You can make the gravy thin or thick according to your choice. Now after the gravy comes to a boil, add the fried koftas.
  • Cover and cook the vegetable for about 2 minutes. Switch off the gas and serve by adding green coriander on top.
