Nainital: Nainital at number 1 in mushroom production, know how you can cultivate profit

Nainital. Nainital district of Uttarakhand is now also becoming the capital of mushroom production. With the increase of 431 metric tonnes of production in Kumaon division since the Corona period, mushroom production in the district has reached 4310 metric tonnes. Due to these figures, the district has become number one in this production. Since mushroom is a crop grown in less space, less time and less cost, it is becoming the choice of many farmers from rural to urban. Mushrooms grown in the mountain are being supplied to big cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Gorakhpur. Talking about the Bhimtal block of the district, so far 2415 metric tonnes of mushroom has been produced here. Although 1812 metric tonnes were produced in the year 2020-21, but after the lifting of Corona related restrictions, it again jumped. Mushroom species include button, white, milky, dhingri, straw and others, but in mountainous areas, button and dhingri are produced more.

There are machines kept here since 1993, which still help in making compost for mushrooms. Here farmers are given all the information related to this in three days training.
