Pollution has reached alarming levels in Delhi-NCR.
Deployment of anti-smog guns at construction sites has now been made mandatory.
Dust generated during construction works contributes a lot to increasing pollution.
New Delhi. The air quality in the national capital Delhi and NCR currently remains in the very poor category. Today, that is, on Tuesday, 8 November also, Delhi’s Average Air Quality Index (AQI) has been recorded at 321. In view of the deteriorating condition of the environment in Delhi and NCR, the government has banned many works. Apart from this, while doing some works, it has also been made mandatory to take measures to control pollution control.
One of the major reasons for Delhi’s pollution is the dust generated by construction works. The Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM), an organization set up by the central government to take steps against pollution, has made some new rules for construction works in the capital. This panel has also issued new rules for construction work in the Graded Response Action Plan.

cnbctv18.com According to a report by CAQM, wherever construction work is going on, it has been made mandatory to install anti-smog guns. The CAQM has proposed to install smog guns according to the size of the construction site. This means that if you are going to start the construction of house or shop etc soon, or have started then you will have to install anti smog gun at your construction site. Failure to do so may result in action being taken against you.
What is Anti Smog Gun?
Anti smog gun is a device that sprays fine droplets of nebulized water. Due to this small particles of dust and pollution start getting absorbed and they bind with the water and come to the ground. This reduces the level of air pollution. This anti-smog gun mounted on the rear side of the vehicle is attached to a water tank.
How many anti smog guns in how many areas?
In all the construction works going on in NCR, the deployment of smog guns has been made mandatory to stop the pollution. This means that construction projects should have a sufficient number of anti-smog guns. According to the order of CAQM, 1 smog gun should be deployed in the construction area spread over 5000 to 10,000 sqm. There should be 2 smog guns in the construction area spread over 10,001 – 15,000 sqm. There must be 3 smog guns in the construction area spread over 15,001 to 20,000 sqm. It is necessary to have 4 smog guns with a construction area of more than 20,000 sqm.
