According to WHO’s standard, the ratio of population and beds should be 5 beds per thousand, which is a little more than half at present. Still Delhi is far away from WHO’s standard. According to the economic report, at present 11 new hospitals are being built in Delhi. After its completion, 10,000 more beds will be added in Delhi. Along with this, the Delhi government is also working on increasing the number of beds in the existing 15 hospitals. With this, 6 thousand beds will increase in Delhi.

The condition of beds in hospitals is improving in Delhi
After the completion of these hospitals in Delhi, there is a plan to increase the number of beds from 14,000 to 30,000. A total of Rs 9,742 crore has been proposed to be allocated for health in the national capital’s budget for the year 2023-24. This is slightly less than 9,769 crores last year.
