Mumbai. In view of the festive season, Western Railway has increased the fare of platform tickets. This has caused a major setback to the passengers leaving the station or receiving them. In fact, the Western Railway said on Saturday that the price of platform tickets at major stations of Mumbai division has been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 50 till October 31 to curb overcrowding during the festive season.
According to an official statement, platform ticket rates have been increased at Mumbai Central, Dadar, Borivali, Bandra Terminus, Vapi, Valsad, Udhna and Surat stations of Mumbai division. This decision has been taken in view of the rush of festive season at railway stations and to control the number of passengers in railway premises including platforms and foot bridges.

Central Railway had also increased platform ticket prices
The Central Railway on Friday increased the platform ticket rate from Rs 10 to Rs 50 from October 22 to 31 to avoid overcrowding at select railway stations like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Thane, Kalyan and Panvel stations. was announced.
Railways took this step to control the crowd
Let us tell you that during the festive season, there is a manifold increase in the number of passengers in railway stations and trains. To deal with the challenges arising out of the increased congestion, the Railways has taken several measures to control and regulate the crowd at the railway stations. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Railways, it was said that as far as possible, all efforts are being made to run the trains smoothly. Platform numbers will be informed in advance. Platforms will not change. All rakes including special trains will be brought to the platform at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure.

According to the statement, proper train inquiry system and announcement system is being ensured and all train information boards will be in working condition and will show updated information. Apart from this, railway hospitals and dispensaries near railway stations have been directed to be prepared in case of any possible untoward incident at stations.
