New Delhi. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman distributed a lot of gifts to the Railways this year as expected. With the record allocation to the Railways, it has been ensured that the intention of the government is to work wholeheartedly on service, safety and convenience. By spending Rs 2.4 lakh crore, the government wants to modernize the entire nature of the railways. For this, along with building a beautiful railway station, a target has also been set to run luxury trains at high speed. In this, the maximum emphasis is on the semi-high speed train Vande Bharat, whose production will now be increased manifold.

Till now, the Modi government, which has run Vande Bharat train on 8 routes of the country, is working on a plan to connect the whole country through this. For this, 75 thousand crore rupees have been announced in the budget only after preparing the infra. With this money, coach 18 of Vande Bharat train will be prepared in three more parts of the country and production will be increased manifold. So far, Vande Bharat coaches are manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory, ie ICF, Chennai, but the budget has set a target of setting up three more Vande Bharat manufacturing units at Sonepat in Haryana, Rae Bareli in UP and Latur in Maharashtra. It is estimated that in the next three years, the government will prepare about 400 Vande Bharat coaches.

Order given for 36 thousand wheels
It is not that the target of changing the railways has been made in this year’s budget, but Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had presented the vision of running Vande Bharat train in last year’s budget 2022 as well. Then the Finance Minister had announced that 400 Vande Bharat coaches would be manufactured in the next three years. For this, an order of 36 thousand wheels has also been given to Ukraine for 140 crores. However, the war with Russia disrupted supplies and orders have now been placed in the Czech Republic, Poland, Malaysia, China and the US. Railways has also ordered Steel Authority to manufacture 1 lakh wheels.

Three coaches will be ready every week
The government aims to take the manufacturing of Vande Bharat coaches to a level where it can produce 2 to 3 Vande Bharat trains every week. These trains will replace the trains run in the 1950s and 1960s. Railways is so eager to increase the construction of Vande Bharat train that it has also issued a tender ie contract worth 80 thousand crores. Through this, 80 thousand wheels will be manufactured in Indian factories.
