The ministry has increased the distance traveled to book tickets in this way from the app. Now passengers will be able to book tickets from the app from a greater distance than before from the starting station. The ministry has issued orders related to this to software maker CRIS.

There are two types of reserved and unreserved tickets booked for traveling by railways. Reserved tickets can be booked online or through the app from anywhere to any place, but unreserved tickets can be booked for a limited distance from the journey originating station. According to the Ministry of Railways, the decision has been taken to prevent misuse of limited distance tickets.

Changes for these trains
Railways has changed the rules for booking unreserved tickets from Suburban and Mail-Express. But in trains like EMU, the same rules will be applicable as before.

Earlier, tickets could be booked from the app only at a distance of 2 km from the start of the journey for suburban trains. For example, if someone wants to catch a Delhi station train, then he could book an unreserved ticket from the app by reaching a radius of 2 km from the station. But after the new decision of the Railway Ministry, now tickets can be booked up to a radius of 5 km. At the same time, after starting the first journey in Mail Express, 5 km. Tickets could be booked within the periphery of the train, but now the circumference for these trains has been increased to 20 km. have been done.
