An official quoted by news agency PTI said that the Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to run two special trains on Dibrugarh-Gorakhpur and New Jalpaiguri-Gorakhpur routes to clear the extra rush of passengers for ‘Chhath Puja’. .

A North East Frontier Railway (NFR) spokesperson said that both these special trains will have 20 coaches. Out of these, the train will leave Dibrugarh at 7.25 pm on October 27 and will reach Gorakhpur in the morning of October 29. On the other hand, this train will leave from Gorakhpur at 7:50 on 1st November and will reach Dibrugarh in Assam at 8.50 pm the next day.

Request to Railway Ministry to run more special trains
At the same time, the second special train will leave from Gorakhpur at 5 pm on October 29 and will reach New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal the next morning. In return direction, this train will leave New Jalpaiguri at 2 PM on 31st October and will reach Gorakhpur the next day morning. The Bihar government has requested the Ministry of Railways to run more special trains to ensure better travel of people coming to the state for Chhath Puja celebrations.

According to an official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, State Chief Secretary Amir Subhani on Tuesday spoke to senior officials of the Ministry of Railways and requested them to run more special trains from different cities of the country to Bihar to avoid overcrowding. can be controlled.

Railways is running 211 special train
Indian Railways has recently announced that it will run 2,561 trips of 211 special trains till Chhath Puja this year for the convenience of the passengers. These trains will run on routes like Darbhanga, Azamgarh, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Ferozepur, Patna, Katihar and Amritsar etc. and will cover major cities of UP-Bihar.

According to ANI, in the festive season, East Central Railway has 9 special trains, East Coast Railway (ECOR) 6 special trains, Eastern Railway 14 pairs of special trains, Northern Railway 35 pairs of special trains, North Central Railway 8 pairs of special trains. notified to run.
