Share Market Today: Market closes on a downtrend amid ups and downs, Sensex slips 289 points, Nifty closes below 17,100

New Delhi. There were ups and downs in the market on the day of weekly expiry. Sensex-Nifty closed in the red mark at the end of trading on Thursday. Selling was seen in banking, realty and shares, while FMCG, pharma and metal indices closed with slight gains. At the end of trading, the Sensex closed at 57,925.28, down 289.31 points, or 0.50 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty closed at the level of 17,076.90 with a decline of 75.00 points i.e. 0.44 percent.

SBI, Asian Paints, HCL Technologies, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Adani Enterprises were the top Nifty losers in Thursday’s trade. Whereas Hindalco Industries, Nestle India, Bharti Airtel, Maruti Suzuki and JSW Steel were the top Nifty gainers.

The market was closed on the green mark on Wednesday
In the last trading session, the 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 58,214.59, up 139.91 points, or 0.24 per cent, on Wednesday. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also closed at the level of 17,151.90 with a gain of 44.40 points, or 0.26 percent.

Mobile phone exports from the country increased to around $9.5 billion in February. Apple’s share in total exports is half. An official of mobile equipment industry body India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) said the industry is on its way to surpass the target of exporting mobile phones worth $10 billion from the country in the current financial year. According to ICEA, the export of mobile phones from the country was $ 5.5 billion in the financial year 2021-22.
