Share Market Today: Sensex jumps 142 points, Nifty closes near 17,900

New Delhi. On the day of weekly expiry, the stock market was seen trading in a range and finally both the Sensex-Nifty closed in the green. In today’s trade, there was selling in metal, realty and auto stocks while pressure was seen on infra, energy and FMCG stocks. At the end of trading, the Sensex rose by 142.43 points, or 0.23 percent, to close at 60,806.22. At the same time, Nifty has closed at the level of 17,893.45 with a gain of 21.75 points i.e. 0.12 percent.

Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Hero MotoCorp, Cipla and Bharti Airtel were the biggest losers on the Nifty in Thursday’s trade. On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Life, Hindalco Industries, Asian Paints and IndusInd Bank were the top Nifty gainers.

In the last trading session on Wednesday, the BSE’s 30-share index Sensex climbed 377.75 points, or 0.63 percent, to close at 60,663.79 points. The National Stock Exchange’s index Nifty also closed at 17,871.70 points with a gain of 150.20 points, or 0.85 percent.
