Mumbai. The Indian stock market today made a weak start for the third consecutive trading session and the Sensex and Nifty opened with a decline. Paytm’s shares are suffering the most and after the end of the lock-in period of its IPO, there has been a huge decline of 9 percent on Thursday morning. Sensex was going towards 62 thousand but at present it is trading on red mark.

The fall in the global market is also showing its effect on the sentiments of the investors this morning and they started selling and booking profits as soon as the market opened in the morning. Today, maximum profit booking was seen in the shares of Paytm, whose lock-in period ended after the IPO opened. Paytm has suffered a decline of 9 percent.

However, later the confidence of the investors came back a bit and they started buying. After this, at 9.28 am, the Sensex fell by 49 points to 61,954, while the Nifty fell by 19 points to trade at 18,389. Today, where Paytm is showing a decline of 9 percent, Timken India is seeing a jump of 4 percent. In today’s business, Nifty Midcap 100 and Smallcap 100 also declined by 0.1 percent.
In which sector more speed
If we look at today’s business sector-wise, the biggest decline is seen in Nifty Auto, Nifty Bank and Nifty IT. These sectors are trading at a loss of 0.5 per cent. Except Nifty Pharma and Nifty FMCG sector, all other sectors are on the red mark today. Today, a 1 percent jump is also visible in the volatility index.
Asian market also on red mark
Most of the stock markets in Asia are open on the decline this morning and trading on the red mark. Singapore Stock Exchange is showing a decline of 0.24 percent this morning, while Japan’s Nikkei is trading down 0.12 percent. While Taiwan’s stock market is showing a loss of 0.18 per cent, South Korea’s Cospi is trading at a decline of 0.55 per cent.
