Strategic agreement between Reliance Consumer and Maliban Biscuit of Sri Lanka, now the company’s products will be sold in India as well

New Delhi. Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), has entered into a strategic partnership with Maliban Biscuit Manufactures (Pvt) Limited of Sri Lanka. Maliban is a well known brand from Sri Lanka which is manufacturing Biscuit, Crackers, Cookies and Wafers since last 70 years. The company exports its products to more than 35 countries. A statement issued by Reliance Retail said that this is a step taken by RCPL towards the goal of bringing globally and locally recognized consumer brands to India.

RCPL launched its packaged consumer product brand in December 2022 named Independence. Regarding this partnership, Reliance Retail’s Executive Director Isha Ambani has said that apart from being a leader in the market, Maliban also has a strong heritage and credibility. He said, “With this partnership, we are not only strengthening our FMCG portfolio but also offering high quality products to Indian consumers. As the patron of many well-known brands in India, Reliance Retail has the potential to build on the consumer base that Maliban has built over the last 70 years.”

Maliban’s statement
Maliban’s Group Managing Director Kumudika Fernando has said about this partnership that she is very happy to inform that Reliance Consumer Products has chosen her company as a partner. According to Kumudika, “The strength of both the companies will help us bring Maliban products that are loved by the people to Indian consumers. We are excited to partner with Reliance Consumer with the common goal of providing world-class products to Indian consumers.”
