Thalipeeth Recipe: Thalipeeth made from multigrain flour is also helpful in reducing cholesterol

Thalipeeth Recipe: Thalipeeth is a traditional Maharashtrian food dish which is not only tasty but also very beneficial for health. Multigrain flour (flours of different types of cereals) is used to make thalipeeth. If the day is started with Thalipeeth as breakfast, then this breakfast can prove to be helpful in keeping energetic throughout the day. Thalipeeth is such a food dish which you can keep in the lunch box of children apart from breakfast. Children eat it with great gusto.
We will use gram flour, jowar flour, wheat flour, millet flour and rice flour for making Thalipeeth. If you have not tried Thalipeeth at home till now, then you can easily make it with the recipe given by us.

Ingredients for making Thalipeeth
Jowar flour – 1 cup
Wheat flour – 1/4 cup
Millet flour – 1/4 cup
Rice flour – 1/4 cup
Besan – 1/4 cup
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
Green chili – 2-3
Onion – 1
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Sesame – 2 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp
Ajwain – 1/4 tsp
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Green coriander leaves chopped – 2 tbsp
Oil – as required
Salt – as per taste

how to make thalipeeth
To make Thalipeeth, first take a deep-bottomed vessel and add jowar flour, gram flour, wheat flour, rice flour and mix them all well. After this also add ginger-garlic paste to it. Now add coriander powder, cumin powder, carom seeds to this mixture and mix. After this add 2 tsp sesame seeds, finely chopped onion, green coriander leaves and salt as per taste and mix.

When all the ingredients are mixed in the mixture, then add 1 tsp of oil and mix it and knead a soft dough by adding water little by little. After this, cover the dough with a cotton wet cloth and keep it for some time. After sometime knead the dough once more, after that make a dough and press it with hands by placing it on a flat place (butter paper / aluminum foil). Make it as thin as possible by pressing it with your hands.

While making thalipeeth, pat the hands moistened with water so that the dough can be spread easily. Now make a small hole in the middle of the thalipeeth so that the thalipeeth can absorb the oil well. Now take a nonstick pan/tawa and heat it and add some oil. After this put the prepared thalipeeth on the pan gently. Apply oil on both the sides and roast it till its color becomes golden brown. After that take it off in a plate. Your delicious Thalipeeth is ready. In the same way prepare a plate back with all the flour. It can be served with curd, pickle or chutney.
