The Indian Express quoted Siddha Akshar, founder of Akshar Yoga Institution, as saying that yoga can not only widen the airways but also increase the flow of oxygen. He told that yoga helps in opening the chest, throat and nostrils completely, due to which the quality of sleep can also improve at night.
These are the 3 yoga asanas to stop snoring
1. DhanurasanaThis yoga creates flexibility in the spine. It is also called Urdhva Chakrasana. For this asana, lie down on your stomach after being relaxed. Keep both the hands on either side of the body. Now bend the knees from behind and bring them near the waist, while slowly taking the hands back, hold both the feet with both the hands. In this situation, your chest and neck should also be raised. Take long deep breaths and relax the posture. Stay in this pose for 20 to 30 seconds and do this yoga according to your capacity.
2. BhujangasanaBhujangasana is a back bandaging pose. It is also called cobra pose. In this, the chest and neck have to be raised forward. Akshar says “This is one of the best asanas to strengthen and widen the abdomen. This yoga removes tension, fatigue and pain of sciatica. It also cures irregular menstruation. To do this yoga, lie down on the asana after being relaxed on the stomach. Stretch your legs backward while spreading your toes on the floor. Now rest the hands on the floor and bring the elbows next to your body. After this, with the help of the palms, slowly raise the chest as per the capacity. Breathe in relaxed and release. Meanwhile, while still pushing your navel down, slowly contract your buttocks. Stay in this pose for 15 to 30 seconds. Repeat this yoga as per your capacity.
3. Bhramari PranayamaThis is an important Pranayama related to breath. This is a technique of taking positive energy. A sound is made while inhaling and exhaling in it. Pranayama calms the mind and heart and creates vibrations on the throat, jaw and face. It is very easy to do this. Cross your legs on a mat and go to the meeting. Straighten your back and calm your mind. Close your eyes too. Bring both the palms in Om posture. Now press the fingers on the left nostril and inhale through the right nostril, then exhale through the other nostril and relax. Repeat this action. These three exercises will help a lot in getting rid of snoring.
