Vaishnav Kamada Ekadashi: Vaishnav Kamada Ekadashi being celebrated on April 2, know who should keep this fast
This year Kamada Ekadashi is being celebrated for 2 days. The Ekadashi that falls on the second day is called Vaishnava Ekadashi. Sannyasins, widows and devotees desirous of attaining salvation and people of Vaishnava sect fast on this day. On this day Lord Vishnu is worshiped and Ekadashi fast is observed.
The first Ekadashi of the Hindu New Year i.e. the first Ekadashi of Chaitra Shukla is called Kamda Ekadashi. This year, where Kamda Ekadashi was celebrated on April 1, Vaishnav Kamda Ekadashi is being celebrated on April 2. According to belief, fasting on this Ekadashi frees a person from all sins and begets a bright son. This year this Ekadashi is being celebrated for 2 days.

Who should fast on Vaishnav Ekadashi
Sometimes the fast of Ekadashi is done for 2 days. In such a situation, when the fast of Ekadashi falls on 2 days, then the people coming to the household life should observe the fast of Ekadashi which falls on the first day. On the other hand, fasting on the second day of Ekadashi i.e. Vaishnav Ekadashi should be observed by ascetics, widows and devotees desirous of attaining salvation and people of Vaishnava sect.
worship method
Wake up early in the morning, take bath etc. and meditate on Lord Vishnu and take a vow of fasting.
After this, spread a red cloth in the temple and install the idols of Lord Sri Hari Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on it.
Then anoint God with water, sesame, roli, akshat.
Offer fruits, flowers, milk, Panchamrit, sesame seeds and show incense-lamps to Lord Shari.
Light a lamp of pure ghee and do aarti of Vishnuji and then do Ekadashi fast story.
Worship again in the evening and eat fruits.
Vishnu Sahastranam, and Vishnu Chalisa should be recited at night.
On the next day of fasting, feed the Brahmins and the poor and donate blankets, warm clothes, sesame seeds and grains along with Dakshina.
Then break the fast.
