In the Black Sea, work has been resumed in the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny

In connection with the signing of the agreement on the unblocking of Ukrainian ports for the export of grain, work has been resumed in the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny. The departure and arrival of ships to seaports will be carried out by forming a caravan that will accompany the lead ship, ArmiyaInform reports.

But this is preceded by the troublesome work of hydrographer specialists. In order to achieve the final goal, specialists of the Center of Navigation, Hydrography and Hydrometeorology of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the branch of the state institution “Odesa District State Hydrography” work in close tandem.

– Today we are conducting joint work on navigational and hydrographical safety of shipping in one of the ports of Odesa. First of all, these are works that determine safe routes for the movement of ships that will transport Ukrainian grain, – says Ihor Tymchuk, head of the branch of the state institution “Odesa District State Hydrography”.

Military and civilian specialists carefully search for underwater objects, install special means of navigation equipment that will help the safety of navigation. Hydrographic survey work is also ongoing — determination of depth, approach channels, and recommended routes.

– Cooperation with the “Odesa District of State Hydrography” has been going on for more than one year, but now, with the beginning of the open aggression of the Russian Federation, it has only strengthened. In our work, everything is simple and complicated at the same time. But the main thing was, is and will be the safety of navigation. This is what we are currently doing, – noted the head of the Center for Navigation, Hydrography and Hydrometeorology of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Captain 1st Rank Roman Goncharenko.

So, as you can see, regardless of the actions of the aggressor, our military continues to perform its work in all directions, in particular, to restore the functioning of shipping to avoid a world food crisis.
