Lviv National Opera resumes work
Tomorrow, April 1, the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv National Opera and Ballet Theater will open its doors to the audience, starting the series of concerts “With faith in victory! Art inspires to live.
“Dear our viewers, we know and understand how difficult it is for you in these difficult times for all of us. Now Lviv has become a refuge for many people from other cities of Ukraine. We, with faith in our hearts, remain on our front. Since the beginning of the war, we have been fulfilling our humanitarian mission. And in April we begin to resume artistic activity. That is why we will be glad to see everyone who is in Lviv now, ”the website of the Lviv Opera said.
The Day Theater said that the audience will be offered five concert programs this week – for both adults and children. The repertoire of the main stage of the theater includes concert programs with arias and solo songs by Ukrainian composers, fragments from ballets, music for brassquintet, as well as choral concerts by Ukrainian composer of the XVIII-XIX centuries Dmytro Bortnyansky.
And in the Mirror Hall there will be musical entertainment “Star for Mozart” for children 2-4 years accompanied by musicians from the Lviv National Opera Orchestra. Each of the concerts has a symbolic name – # Faith, # Joy, # Strength, # Beauty and # Hope.
“During the war, the function of art changes dramatically: the experience of daily horrors finds a way out when interacting with music or dance, so beautiful that it is so important to notice to experience fear and pain,” said event organizers. – At each of the concerts we strive to give the audience more strength and positive emotions, consolation and empathy, which we all need to overcome the common path to victory. The focus of each of the programs will be the performance of Ukrainian music and classical works of world art. “
The programs will include not only artists and musicians of the Lviv National Opera, but also IDPs – artists from other opera houses of Ukraine, in particular, soloist of the Ballet of the National Opera of Ukraine in Kyiv Olena Karandeeva, ballet soloist of the Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Mykola Lysen. “East Opera” Denis Onufriychuk.

Tickets for performances and sightseeing tours can be purchased at the theater box office. And, given the martial law, the Lviv Opera House warns of possible changes in the schedule.
Theater staff also draws the attention of potential spectators to security measures when attending events at the Lviv National Opera: in the event of an air alarm, the public will have to go to a shelter located in the theater.
Also at the entrance to the theater will be a cursory inspection to identify items whose circulation is prohibited or restricted or threatens human life or health. Visitors are also reminded to follow anti-epidemic measures aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus.
